Incubus during one of their sessions is of course the focus of the layout with lyrics from their song "Vitamin". Incubus is my absolute favorite band and this picture has been sitting on my hard drive for forever, so it just makes sense.

Listening To: "HERE WE GO feat VERBAL (m-flo)" - May J. Working On:WY Feeling: hurting a bit
Had to be shot 5 times today in about 2 minutes at the doctor. 4 different shots and blood work done. She didn't even tell me before she stuck the needles in my arms, just started doing it. Ugh. The Gardasil shot had to be the worst and only afterwards when I mentioned that that one had really had hurt, the nurse was like "Oh yeah, that is supposed to be one of the most painful shots." WHAT? I do much better being prepped before and knowing what I'm getting into.
Oh well. I was pronounced healthy and had my physical sheet filled out for GHP, so I'm officially all prepared now! Nothing left to do but pack! A week and a half now, and I'll be gone for the summer. A little odd to think about my whole summer being taken up, but it's so exciting. I'm already beginning to think it will be hard to go home. That is what most people say is the worst part - going home and back to a normal school life. You go to college for the summer and then are told, "Wait, back to high school with you now." WAIT, what?
Summer work is getting done, amazingly. But that's just because I want to get it done before GHP. I'd be slacking off and procrastinating if I didn't want to not have to worry about it this summer. Oh well. Read Europe's Last Summer (not really worth your time), The Double Helix (a bit more worth your time, but still a little selective in who it would appeal to), and finishing up Power of Myth. I've heard a lot of people say that it is boring, but I find it very enlightening. But I also grew up with faerie tales and myths shoved down my throat and I loved it. I love studying all the old Grimm's Fairy Tales and not the ones like "Cinderella", but the much less known. It really appeals to me and my own thoughts on how American culture is hurting itself by having no such rituals and rites of passage and no real myths to learn from now.
Started looking at college applications. I can now apply as I am a senior! Not sure if I'll apply for the presidential scholarship or not (my life really hasn't been bad enough to get it, they like the sob stories), but I'm doing early admission no matter what.

Listening To: "Curtain Call" - m-flo Working On: Nothing! Feeling: glad that school is over, but a bit infruriated
Okay, so it really ended up we had no Bio final (all our projects were our final), Math Methods (Calculus) was moved to Monday and we also had Physics that day, then yesterday was Spanish and Literature, and today we had a test (we've already had our final) in History and we played croquet in yearbook!
Then I find out some grades. Bio - 98/A, Spanish - 98/A and the shocker - 87/B Math Methods. WHAT??? The median grade for the final was a 23/F. RIDICULOUS! The average was like a 42/F. He told us not to worry about it, it would be really easy, we would over study, no one should fail, everyone should improve on their grade. Then he laughed at us at the end when we said we thought it was really hard.
He also told two guys that they didn't need to worry about failing, he wouldn't fail them. Then, what does he do? He fails them. That means they are out of IB. They can't get the diploma. They can't even go to our school next year as seniors! They have to go back to whatever they are districted for. He wouldn't even talk to them about their grade. Just simply told them to "shut up and get out of my room." I've had some jerk/stupid teachers before, but this guy takes the cake. He wouldn't even talk to them about it. Didn't curve the grades, even though they desperately needed it, and for some people (his favorites), he gave them 4-5 points to let them pass! Yet, he can't give me 3 points for an A?
One guy had a 89/B going into the final. Made about the same grade as I on the final (he made a 52/F and I made a 50/F). His grade stays a 89/B. My grade goes down a point.
WTF?!??!?!?!?!???!?!??!
His grade should have gone down at least a point or two! Did it? HECK NO! Why? He is one of the man's favorites!
Oh well. I can deal with one B. I mean, I no longer have a 4.0, but it's not that I don't have the perfect 4.0. It's that I was shafted and it wasn't a fairly given B. If I had seen everyone being treated fairly, I wouldn't be complaining. But it wasn't.
Stupid man. What an a-hole.

Listening To: "Luvotomy" - m-flo loves Namie Amuro Working On: anime party tomorrow Feeling: annoyed? tired of school? something like that
Okay, 9 more days left. I always love it when I can count the remaining days on my fingers!
Today was one of the craziest days on record with me being caught in the lock-out (we can't enter class if we are even 1 second late and instead have to go sit in the cafeteria/gym for the entire block and miss class) because they decided to ring the bells late. The bell should have rung at 10:30 am (when I arrived at school because I woke up too late and realized it would be more prudent to come then), but instead they delayed it even more until it got to be noon and then they realized that the testing in the afternoon had to start.
I was part of the afternoon testing (US History), which started late because we had to take it with all the other classes of US History and Economics classes. So, therefore we also had to wait on the other 300 people to finish, which meant that we didn't get out until 2:45 pm!!!!!!! School ends at 2:30 pm and while it may not have affected me, the buses for many leave at 2:35 pm! There are some real idiots who have PhDs.
Ugh, historical investigation due Monday, rough draft for Lit Paper 2 due Tuesday, Biology's 8 projects (which she just gave us today) are due Friday, which happens to be the start of finals! Icky icky icky days ahead!
